Right before Christmas I found out that one of my images was selected as a finalist for PDN’s Top Knot wedding photography contest. This was such a great early Christmas present. I thought there was no way that I would even be a finalist because this photo contest has all the top wedding photographers entering it. I was just super happy because my photo was a finalist and was going to be published in PDN, which is the top photographers magazine in the U.S. or if not the world.
Yesterday I found out that my image of Anika getting zipped up in her wedding dress won the “Getting Ready” category of the contest. My jaw dropped to the ground when I saw this on my laptop!!! A BIG thanks goes out to PDN and the judges that award this photo the category winner and Anika and Luke for letting me photograph their wedding. Also, congratulations to all the other category winners and finalist. You can read more below and click on the links to see all the other fabulous photos.

I’m down in Santa Barbara right now for a wedding that I’m shooting tomorrow. I always love coming down here, it’s feels like summer year around and I also went to photo school here at Brooks. Today I had a fun time shooting an engagement shoot for Allegra and Mike who’s wedding I’m shooting tomorrow. Here’s a quick sneak peak from today’s shoot.

On April 5, 2009 I married the woman of my dreams. That’s right Christine and I tied the knot up in Lake Tahoe at Edgewood in front of our family and friends. It was a gorgeous Lake Tahoe day and the wedding went off without a glitch. There is so much to say about a special day like this, but it’s so hard to put into words. All I know is that I feel like the luckiest man alive!!! My good buddy Tim Halberg and his wife Cheryl photographed the wedding and the day after session. Here are some links to some of the photos that he’s posted so far. I’ll post the slideshow once he gets it done. Also here are some Polaroid photos that Tim took with my Polaroid camera during our day after session. Sorry about the not so good scan job.
