Rome, Italy

So I’m finally getting around to posting some photos from our tip to Italy this summer. We went to Rome, Florence and Venice from late June and into July. We took tons of photos so I’m breaking it up into three blog posts for each city we went to. I wish I could show all the photos, but here’s just a quick look into the fun we had!!

The first city we went to while in Italy was Rome. We left Sacramento at 7:30am and then landed in Rome at 9am the next day with our feet running. Long story short we were up for around 37 hours straight before going to bed. We saw so much during our three-day stay in Rome and walked a ton. I think we ended up walking around 13-16 miles everyday. Also during the whole trip it was around 105 degrees everyday!! Which made all that walking a lot more fun ;-) There’s so much to say and I don’t want to bore you, but all I can say is if you haven’t been you should go in the near future for sure!! Enjoy all the photos!!

Tech talk: I traveled light with camera gear and only brought a Canon 5d II with a 50mm 1.2 & 24mm 1.4, a Hasselblad 503 w/80mm 2.8 and a Canon S90 point & shoot.

This is why air travel in America sucks now days!! We got to sit in an airplane traffic jam for over an hour in Charlotte before our take off to Rome. This photo was taken from out our  airplane window.

Chico the Chihuahua

This post has been a long time coming. Christine and I got Chico our new Chihuahua puppy about 3 months ago. He’s such a cool dog and keeps me company in my office all day long. Here are some photos that I’ve taken over the last 3 months of our little guy. Puppies are so fun, but keep you on your toes all the time!!

1 Year Wedding Anniversary

A year ago today I married the woman of my dreams. I’m so happy to be married to Christine and to spend the rest of my life with my beautiful wife. I can’t wait for what life has in store for the two of us!!

Here’s a photo that our wedding photographer Tim Halberg took with my Xpan camera on some old discontinued Agfa Scala B&W slide film.

Mammoth Mountain Ski Trip

Last week I was down in Mammoth at my aunt’s condo for the first time this year. After finally getting caught up on all my work I was able to go down there for a full week, which was much needed!! I couldn’t have picked a better week to go to Mammoth from some skiing. My first day there I was skiing 2 ft of powder and it got better as the week went on. I ended up having 3 powder days out of the 5 days that I was there. Good times :-) Here are some photos that I took with my point and shoot camera.

Hasselblad & Holga Film Photos

This past summer I took my Hasselblad camera out of my closet to take some night exposures on our camping trip to Lake Tahoe. I’ve had my Hasselblad since I went Brooks and used a lot while going to school for projects. I’m finally making myself use it, some more which has been fun. A week ago I finally sent the film out to the lab to get it developed and just got them back. I also had some Holga rolls developed too from this past summer and fall.
